Bargeron get together

Every year on Christmas Eve the Bargeorn family (Kim and Carolyn's children) get together. Cory and I have it at our home every other year. This year it was at our home, and we had a good time. This is the first year I think that we have celebrated the holidays with Mike, Lani and children. It was fun to have them in our home. We ate to much, laughed like always, had a few gifts and enjoyed each others company. Here are some pictures that were taken thanks to Beverly.

My Children

A couple of Sundays ago I wrote about how I hate Sundays. I don't really I just wish we could have one that was peaceful. Here is an example of how my Sundays start out. Church is at 1:00 so my kids get up at like 6:30. Cory and I get up between 7:30-9:00 depending on how long they will leave us alone. I think today it was about 8:30 before Beezey(Brinley) cam in to hide under our bed because her sisters weer chasing her with a marker. So I get up and find that they have drawn all over Beezeys face. Okay this will come off in the bath. Thank goodness for washable markers. Then I go into the kitchen to find melted Ice Cream and Pasta/pasta sauce all over my kitchen table. Here is were I want to ask how you all have perfect children. My kids know that they are not to get in the fridge with out asking us and then one of us there to help. This is because Beezey decided to finger paint in our living room with raw eggs about a year ago now. She still has a thing for eggs. They can get in the pantry and get cereal out. They know this. So here is by beef today. Cory and I have taught our kids right from wrong and how to treat thing. But for some reason when it comes to our home they don't care all that much. We have tried every thing, and they just don't seem to care. This makes me sad. I know I am not a bad mom, but there are days I feel like it. I didn't get pictures of today I was to upset, but I did some of other things. Here are the before and after pictures of my kitchen the other day when I was trying to get ready for the Bargeron Christmas Eve party at our house. I was gone 10 minutes. Then Beezey oh goodness. She is addicted to cheese. Here are a few of her getting her own cheese. Know that had she asked me I would have gotten her some, but she wants to do it all on her own. Kind of like the picture of her in my blog Coco Baby 2.She wanted to help me make brownies that night. needless to say we didn't make any. If any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them. I now have to go get marker off my little Beezey, so she can look like a cute little girl at church. Today is our last day of nursery!!!!!!!!!!!!! all 3 will be in big kid primary next Sunday.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone. Today has been a nice day. The girls got up at about 6:30, but because Cory was at work, I wouldn't let them go down stairs, so Haley called daddy and asked if they could go see if Santa found the house. He had a good laugh and then told the kids to enjoy what Santa brought. After Cory got home we let the girls open there gifts, and I think they liked ever thing, but Santa was the big hit for them at our house. After gifts I loaded the girls up and went to my parents home.. They only live 25 minutes from us, but we had another storm last night so it took about 45 minutes, but that was fine. Nana and Papa's was great. The girls each got their own little rocking chair, and of course clothes (thank goodness). Mom and Nana were able to take a nap before dinner. I would have to say that today I used the TV as a babysitter. My kids have not had TV to watch for about 5 months now, so when I started to fall a sleep, I turned the TV on and they just sat in their new chairs and didn't move. How thankful I was for that today. We were sorry that we didn't get to see Uncle Lyle and Auntie Heather today, but they were snowed in.

We were also able to have the Bargeron clan over yesterday, and enjoyed spending time with them. It is nice to have 4 out of the 5 Bargeron boys in the same state, and my girls love that they have more cousins to play with. Merry Christmas to all and enjoy the new year.

The Annual Boyer Christmas Party

Yesterday was my 35th annual Boyer Christmas party. All my life I have spent the Saturday or Sunday before Christmas with my dad's side of the family. My grandparents have always found a way to get us together as a family at least 2 or 3 times a year, but the one time that we were never to miss was the Christmas party. I remember as a child Santa would come, still to this day I don't know who they got to play Santa. I also remember every year Grandpa would save all his pennies in a jar and at the party he would draw a name of one of the boys and give him the pennies. I don't think it was ever more then $20.00, and Grandma would give one of the girls in the family an afghan that she had been working on for the year. I never did like the color of mine, but I have used it every winter. I liked my mom's more so I took it when I got married(sorry mom). I will never forget the games that the adults would play. If you have never seen a bunch of grownups rolling on the floor from laughter, it is pretty funny. Grandpa has not been with us for 17 years now, but he was always with us in spirit. This year Grandma was also gone. She left us in October, but made sure that we still had the party. For the past 2 years we have held it at Pazzo Vita Deli and Market. Frankie out did himself again, the food was wonderful. If you have not been you have got to go, it is worth the drive to Taylorsville. With all the memories that I have of parties through the years, I would have to say that yesterday tops them. As my dad and aunts were cleaning out Grandma's home, they decided to share it with the grandkids. So the game yesterday for us (grandkids) was a gift game. We were each given a number and if you could understand Hal with out his teeth, he would tell you to get a gift and then do something with it. In the end we each opened what we had and some of us got things that were funny like Grandmas HO HO HO hat (looked great on you Kristal) or Grandpa's hammer (better hide it Heather, I might come take it after I lose another hammer at our house). Grandma, even though you were not there in person, you were their in spirit and we all know. Thank you for taking the time to make sure that we always got together each year to remember the birth of Christ and the importance of family.

Happy Hearts Pre-School Program

Today was Haleys Christmas program. She didn't do very well at the halloween one, so I was a llittle worried she wouldn't be apart of todays. As you can kind of tell in the picture she was in it and did a great job. Her teacher is the best, she has been teaching the kids 4 christmas songs over the past month, and then today for the last 15 minutes of class they sang them to all the parents. I can't believe how much Haley has opened up at school. She loves to go and gets upset on the days that she doesn't go. I am very proud of her.

5 year olds

Natasha is our 5 year old who at times like today thinks that she is 16 or older. I was always told that 2 is the worst year. I beg to differ. 5 has been the worst so far. The child has a mouth on her at times, to were you would think she is much older. Any one have any ideas of how to turn my sweet little 5 year old back to a sweet little 5 year old? I am about at the end of my rope today with being told that she wont make her bed or put her dish's in the sink. Then the whole not getting what she wants thing because she has to take turns with her sisters. Here is the big one for today. This was all because I wouldn't put the camp rock CD in the kitchen radio. She came into the office and told me she was moving to a different house because I am being mean( Oh how I wish I could remember being 5 so that I could tell my mother how sorry I am). So when I told her that she could go, (she pulls this card every time she doesn't get what she wants) she asked if I would cry. I said no, she looked at me, and then said she was off. I asked her where she was going to go and she told me Jill's house. Jill is really cute about it. She will call and tell me that she is there and then she has a talk with Tasha and sends her home. One of these days I want to see what she would do If I packed a bag for her and let her stay at Jill's (but only if you are okay with it Jill). If any one has any ideas I would love to hear them.

Sunday's

It is sad to say that I have found Sundays to be the hardest day of the week. Growing up I loved Sundays, you go to church, you come home and sleep, you make treats, you don't do much of anything. Now its is just a trial to see if you can all get to Church with out any marks on the girls. I swear to you that the minute they wake up and find out it is church day (that is what they call Sundays) they start to wale on each other. They fight me over baths, over what dress they are going to wear, and who gets to get ready first. Needless to say that buy the time I am ready to go to church, I am ready for the day to be over. Now in our ward we have around 150 kids between the age of 18 months -11 years old. So needless to say that Sacrament meeting is not quite like it was when I was growing up in an older ward. But you would at least think that with a 5,4, and 3 year old I should be able to sit through a whole meeting. Not the case. I think Cory likes to take one of the kids out that is acting up because once they are out they are good and he can hear. I really have to ask myself every Sunday why am I going today. I know why I'm going, I just wish I could feel the spirit more while I was their. You see after a wonderful time in Sacrament meeting I get to go into nursery with all the 18th month old kids. Today the lesson was on sharing, something the kids are not that great at. So while Cory was teaching the lesson, he asked the kids if they thought they could share. They all looked at him like he was some crazy person, and then went off to fight over the toy kitchen, and try and shut each others fingers in the microwave. I do love going to church, it's just sometimes I wounder why.

Christmas Around the World

This past Saturday Natasha and I had the chance to go to Christmas Around the World at BYU. We went with Auntie Bev, Sydney, Maelle and Grandma Bargeorn. Grandma and Tasha were both able to go last year with Cory, and they had a great time. So I asked Tasha if she wanted to go again this year with Cory, and she was so excited to go. Because this was her daddfy daughter date for the month, I took her out to buy a new dress, which I don't normaly let her pick then out and try them on, but this time I did. She was so cute every time she put a dress on (and I am talking around 10 dress) she would look in the mirror and say "I look so bueatful" the she would say "I think I have fallen in love with this dress" Tell me how much trouble are we in as ahe getts older. Prom dress shopping is going to be a nightmare. She picked out the one dress that I was not so found of, but she did look so cute and grown up. Cory ended up not being able to go so I went with her. She had a comment for all the dances and the costoums. I asked her what her favorite dance was and she siad Ireland and the China dance. I couldn't tell you what I thought was the best, because I thought they were all good. If you have never gone to see Christmas Around the World I would recommend it trying to go.

Day of Thanks

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Cory got home from work at 8:00 in the morning, and was able to get some sleep before we headed off to Auntie Heather and Uncle Lyle's house. They made a beautiful dinner, and knew just how to get the kids to eat dinner. Candy bribes always work with my kids. Cory was able to have dinner with us then off to work he went. I was okay with it knowing that he was going to be getting 2 days vacation for work a holiday. I would have to say the best part of the day came after the meal and all the sugar my kids had eating, and it was was when the girls feel asleep in the car on the way home. OH HAPPY DAY. I say this because my girls can get pretty hipper when they are loaded with sugar. Most of you know that. But over all it was a wonderful day. e have so many things to be thankful for and it was nice to be able to share that with family. Now it is time to put the tree up and get ready for a new holiday.

Happy 12th Anniversary

Cory and I have been married for 12 years now. The time has gone by so fast. As we were talking and thinking back to our wedding day, we both had to laugh as we remembered coming back to our apartment to find the landlord and the plumber in the kitchen. As we walked in they both looked at us and asked us how the wedding was and then went back under the sink to fix the leak. Needless to say I was mad, so Cory and I went and got some dinner. Well 12 years later we have 3 kids 5 and under, and hardly ever get a chance to go out. Cory decided that this year he was taking me away for the weekend. I loved it because he let me pick almost everything that we did. We went to Gardner's Village to see the Elves, we went to the Rook in Salt Lake for dinner, (I recommend to ever one that if you want to go to a very nice dinner but you will pay for it go to the Roof). We had tickets to a concert but we were to tired to go, how sad is that. We also went and saw Twilight which I liked,and I cant wait for the next one. We drove around Salt Lake and looked at all the old buildings, some or them are very beautiful. We stayed at the Anniversary Inn at were able to stay in the "Room with a View" room. It was very nice we had a great view of the city. The sad part of this hole weekend is that we spent half of it sleeping. I forgot how nice it is to get up when I want to, not when my kids want me to. I should tell you though that I think our kids had just as much fun as we did. The kids got to stay with cousins in Layton for the weekend, and partied the hole time.

OH HAPPY DAY

Today I can say is one the best in my life. For those who don't know this summer Haley was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata Universalise, this means that she has lost all of her body hair, and it wont grow back. It took a couple of months for us to get use to this and for her to get use to knowing that she was never going to have hair. Right about the time that we all felt like we were back to the norm, she started to get some splotches down her spin and around the trunk of her body. We took her to the Pediatrician who didn't know what it was and recommended that we take her back to her Dermatologist, which we were happy to do. I have to say I love Dr. Bezzant. I have never had a Doctor be so blunt or I guess you could say honest. Being nerves about what we might hear I asked my mom to go with us, Haley also wanted Nana to go. I am glad she went. We were told that it was either Eczema or a form of Cancer. I looked at him with bugged eyes, and asked him if he just said Cancer. He looked at me straight faced and said yes I did. As I was trying not to cry and looking at my mom for help, she stepped in and started to ask questions. All I could think about was what else could my little girl have to go through. By the time I could hear what was being said, he was telling my mom that it was a Cancer that has no cure, but one that no one had every died from. I don't know that, that made it any better, but I guess it helped a little. I finally got that we were talking about a form of skin cancer that has to do with your white blood cells. I am still kind of in a fog about it all. After nights of not sleeping, and finally realizing that what ever happened, she was our little surprise baby, and I was going to enjoy every day that we had with her. So today we went back for her check up and found that the medication that Dr. Bezzant had given us had help clear up her skin and the it was NOT CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!! She will spend the rest of her live having to use a wonderful cream to help with her very strange form of eczema. I know get to enjoy everyday of our lives together, and will be reminded everyday what a special child we were blessed to have. Haley has truly turned out to be an angle child for us. I don't know yet how or why she was chosen to come to us, but she did 4 weeks early. This little girl that started life out at 3.5 lbs. is now my little miracle child. I may not show her every day how much she means to me, but I know in my heart.

A very happy day

Today was one of those days that I love. I don't know how many of you get to have a girls only day, I don't get them very often, but today I had the best one. My sweet husband came home this morning after working a 12 hour night shift, and took over the kids so that I could go out with me sister-in-law Beverly. I don't think that in the 11 years Bev and I have know each other, that we have ever gone out with out at least one child. Today we were kid free and fancy free. We were able to go look at Holiday stuff, get some things that were needed, and just walk around Gardner's Village with out have to tell kids to stay close and keep your hands off. The fact that is was also nice and warm outside also help our moods. Thank you to my sweet husband for a wonderful day.

A favorite Recipe

I thought I would share with you one of our family favorites, also a good dish when feeding a group of people.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs with Rice in your Crock-Pot


Ingredients:
1 pound ground chuck or round
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons fine plain breadcrumbs or corn flake crumbs
2 teaspoons soy sauce, low sodium
2 tablespoons grated or finely minced onion
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce, low sodium
1 large sweet bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
hot cooked rice
1 can pineapple, chunks (15 ounces)
Preparation:In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, bread crumbs, and onion. Shape into 1 1/2 in balls. In a large skillet, lightly brown meatballs in the vegetable oil. Drain well. Transfer meatballs to slow cooker.
In a small bowl, combine vinegar, sugar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch and bell pepper; stir to blend. Pour over meatballs. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in pineapple with juice. If thicker juices are desired, combine more cornstarch with a little cold water and add, stirring, until thickened. Serve with hot cooked rice.Serves 4.eet and sour meatballs with rice for your crock pot.

Coco Baby

For those of you that don't know the coco story, when Cory was a little kid, he was trying to make something that he need coco for, so he was trying to get out of the cupboard, when it feel out and landed on him covering him in coco. He wouldn't let his mom get a picture, so the first thing I had to do with Brin was get a picture. She decided that she wanted to help me with the brownies and dumped the coco all down the front of her self. Gotta love kids.

Homecoming

Today the girls and I got a chance to go to the airport and welcome home a friend from Iraq. Hes has been there for 6 months and has about 4 or 5 left. The girls were so excited about him returning when he did because it is Veterans week at school. I have also over the past year been able to learn so much more about the war and what the men and women are doing and going through to help perfect us as a nation. I am finding that our blessing are hitting home to me a little more this year especially right now at this time of the year. I hope you all were able to enjoy your Veterans' Day.

Family

Family, what is it about family that can make you love so much but also make you want to pull your hair out. I know that each of us comes with baggage when we get married. We each come with family things that we don't like and wish our spouse would never have to see or be a part of. But of course none of that ever happens, because we love our spouse and want them to be there to help us through everything we have to deal with in life. I just wish that sometimes people could realize that they are not the only people in the world and that everyone has feelings. I think that we forget that. The thing I wish we wouldn't forget is that little ones don't always get it. They don't always understand why they are getting there feelings hurt by someone that they feel should love them. I guess I just think that as adults we should think about that more often.

Trunk or Treat

Jill and I took the kids Trunk or Treating last night. I think Seith and Brinley had more fun eating the candy and passing it out then they did going and getting candy. After we were finished at the church the kids went and did some door to door, and again Seith and Brinley handed out candy to the kids. I would have to say that the kids that got candy for Seith and Brin were lucky little kids. I think they would each put in like 10 pieces of candy in each bag. The fun part for me was watching the kids as they would go and get candy, running and laughing. It brought back so many memories of when LeAnn and I would go Trick or Treating as kids. How I miss those days of being little and Innocent. All though I would not want to go back and live them again. It is just nice to remember.

Halloween

I figured out to down load pictures from our camera so I thought I would show you the girls in their costumes. Tasha is our little devil, Haley was a Pink Fairy for School and will be Cinderella for Halloween, and Brinley is our little Dragon.

First Timer

Well I have finally ventured into the computer world and tried something new for me. I have had people telling me that we needed to get a blog going so here it is. Today Cory and I went to Haley's pre-school Halloween parade. It was so cute to see what the kids had picked to dress up like. If I had any good pictures I would post them, but no such luck. I did get some pictures of our girls in there costumes last night as we were trying them on, as soon as I can get Cory to get them downloaded I will post them.
