Surprise Pumpkin

Last year as the summer was coming to an end and we were starting to clean out the garden, we asked the girls what they would like to plant next year. Tasha asked if we could plant pumpkins and Cory said no they will take up to much space in the garden. I would say sometime in November I saw Tasha out digging in the garden dirt, I asked her what she was doing. She came in and said I planted 12 pumpkin seeds in the garden, I told her that they wouldn't grow because they would not be able to make it through the winter and dad would be turning the dirt in the spring. Well we turned the dirt in the spring and planted out garden. Nothing was growing for a while then I looked out and we had this plant growing right next to the tomatoes. Of course I thought it was a zucchini plant. About 3 weeks ago I went out to pick zucchini and found a very large pumpkin in the garden. Natasha was so proud of her self, she has been keeping an eye on it for picking. So today we told her to go and pick her pumpkin, she has one more still growing but the one she picked is a nice 12lb. pumpkin.
